Hello, world: the Awanio engineering blog

For the past few years we've been building infrastructure software in Jakarta and shipping it to data centers around the world: a hypervisor and host OS (Vapor), a management plane (Cockpit), a white-label cloud platform (CEP), a migration broker (Condensa), and an AI-native Kubernetes console (KudashAI).

Most of what we've learned along the way lives in commit messages, internal runbooks, and late-night incident channels. This blog is where we start writing it down in public.

Why "sovereign" keeps coming up

Our customers — hosting providers, telcos, enterprises, government-adjacent operators — share one constraint: their infrastructure has to answer to them. Data residency, predictable licensing, no black-box control planes. That constraint shapes almost every technical decision we make, and it will shape most of the posts here too.
